13: Medical Roleplay
14: Government Roles & Corruption
Why this matters - Government characters have elevated access, trust, and influence. Unauthorised corruption, even if minor, directly damages server balance, undermines RP integrity for both criminals and law enforcement, and leads to poor storytelling. One unsanctioned action can derail an entire legal case, investigation or storyline.
15: Businesses
16: Safe Areas, Restarts & Aircraft
17: RP Culture, Storytelling & Pacing
18: Gangs
19: Compensation & Evidence
Failure to follow these rules may result in warnings, suspensions, or permanent bans.
20: Terms of Service, Copyright & DMCA
All content created, used, or shared on the server must comply with the server Terms of Service and applicable copyright and intellectual property laws. This includes, but is not limited to, cards, scenes, artwork, images, audio, music, and other media used within the server.
Content that uses or reproduces real world brands, copyrighted characters, trademarks, music, or assets taken from other games, films, or media without permission is not allowed. Removing logos or slightly modifying existing material does not make it acceptable if the original work is still clearly recognizable.
Players are responsible for ensuring any content they introduce to the server is original, properly licensed, or otherwise permitted for use. This also applies to music played through in game systems or other audio sources which must not violate copyright protections.
Content found to violate these rules may be removed without notice. Repeated or serious violations may result in moderation action against the player account.
If a copyright holder believes their work has been used without authorization, they may submit a DMCA takedown request. Content will be reviewed and removed where required to comply with legal obligations.
Pacing, Storylines and Arcs
Our drive as admins will always be to encourage community driven events, new stories and creativity in RP interactions. In the past, it was expressed to us that stepping in, even when trying to be helpful, came off as us attempting to script the RP or "box characters" which ultimately made for less organic scenarios. We will not step in unless absolutely necessary, however we would like to offer some guidance to consider when creating these scenarios and ventures for your characters.
Pacing
A good story is one where you have time to experience the intensity, the laughs, the quiet and the longevity alongside other characters. Think of your favourite stories and scenarios in RP, was it all action all the time? Most likely not, the best stories give us time to soak it all in and enjoy the pay off.
Ripple Effect
Consider that your stories have ripples seen and unseen that stretch beyond what is happening right in front of you. Even seeing a scenario play out can set other characters on a new story arc. Your story can affect someone you may not have even met in RP as much as the group you RP with, for better or for worse. We shouldn't dismiss the importance of how your ripple effects affect other characters' daily lives and if it may or may not be desired. Additionally, any choices you make personally in RP directly or indirectly can enhance somebody elses' RP as well. Be mindful, keep it organic.
RP from other perspectives
Keep in mind, what you see on stream or witness in city is not the whole story most of the time. There could be layers and layers of interactions that you are not and may ever not be aware of, so please don't discount an entire story arc by a group of characters just because of what you might be seeing. The other side of the coin is, never assume that just because your story arc is very clear in your mind, that other players know how you want it to pay off. Their excitement and investment may not match yours.
Adapt
Just like life, things don't always work out the way we see them happening, or hope they will. Expect the unexpected and roll with the punches. Read the room and the moments, and don't be afraid to adapt and be open to changes and new possibilities.
Ending Conflict
Conflict should not continue for evermore, there should be an end game for that story arc. It's not about who "won", it's about making stories great. Prolonged violence between the same groups gets boring for all parties involved.
Fostering Good RP
Avoid going OOC:
- Any sort of talk of Gods, Body Cam, Government etc that would imply talking or involvement of the Admin Team.
- Anything that would intentionally or indirectly remove the immersion of everyone else. While this is a game and we are limited to what we have in terms of actions, just roll with it, and don't call out "scuff" etc.
- Any mention of tickets or banhamas also breaks immersion.
- Rulesplaining or calling out rule breaks OOC should not happen. Again, breaks immersion.
- When you feel there is a rule break, wait until that scenario/RP is over, and then put in a ticket.
Things to consider:
- Driving unrealistic vehicles in unrealistic locations (e.g Sports Cars up Chilliad)
- Intentional beef just to get in a gun fight, or repeatedly physically assaulting people with witnesses and law enforcement present, Tackling people without reason.
- Failure to remove masks while going about non-criminal activities, such as getting food and visiting businesses or Government buildings (VPD or Pillbox Hospital)
- Having a major fall or injury and just continuing like it hasn't affected you and not playing out the injuries. If you are flat on your back/unconscious during scenes.
- Needlessly attacking locals whilst on your travels
- Using your professional skills or positioning to avoid RP with others or consequences to actions.
